If you have a retail business, the Monarch labeller is a must have, and, of course, don't forget the Monarch labels. This price labels comes in different attractive colors that will surely satisfy the eyes of your customers. You may buy them in white, green, orange, yellow and pink colors, and they can be loaded in your Monarch price gun fast and easy. Each model of price guns has corresponding labels. For instance, if the model of the price gun that you have is Monarch 1115, you have to use Monarch 1115 two line labels. Other price gun manufacturers just don't have this excellent feature.

Whatever your need is in a price label, Monarch definitely has something to offer to you. Each of the price tag labels has different measurements that will suit your every need. Let's take, for example, Monarch 1153. It measures 1" x 1.22", while a Monarch 1155 is measured at 0.75" x 1.22".

Some retailers sometimes worry about price switching on their items, but with Monarch labels, it is so impossible to happen because there is some kind of security attached to it in the form of cuts or slits. If a customer attempts to remove a price tag, it will not go off totally, instead, only a portion of it will be removed, and therefore, it is not prone to cheating. Monarch also has price labels that stick well on items.

The Monarch labels can tailor-fit your needs. If you want your business name to be included in the price tags, you may do so. You may also place additional information like the expiration date of an item, item codes and even logos. Since these labels are available in several colors, you may use them in different purposes like you may use red or orange tags for items that are on sale.

Retailers find price tags a very important factor in the exposure of their business. Even if they are small in nature, the business still does stick in the minds of customers through the names and logos printed on them, which serves as identifying marks.

Well, who wouldn't love to have a Motorcycle? The style and Charisma that the Bike radiates attracts attention as well as awe from the streets which you pass through. A bike is a man's best friend after a dog. Motorcycles are the ultimate vehicles for speed on roads. They are not only know for their style and eloquence but also for their flexibility .By flexibility, the author means the ways in which the motorcycle

can be modified. It is a machine which a man holds close to his heart and his love is his motorcycle.

Be it Harley-Davidson, Suzuki, Japanese bikes or others they attract a lot of attention. Did you ever think the attention you get is not just positive; it could also be negative attention. The point is how do you protect your motor cycles from being stolen? The Motor cycle keys are the most important part in its body. If you do not have the key, you cannot start the engine. The engine is the heart of the body while the key is the brain. Motorcycle keys need to be taken care of in a good manner. You cannot start a motorcycle without and you cannot use the particular key without its particular vehicle. Suppose a person loses his motorcycle keys, and even after a lot of searching, he doesn't get it then he calls up a motorcycle lock smith

Who would come and smith a new motorcycle locks or renews the key according to the internal mechanism of the lock.

Always look for a good Motorcycle locksmith and then see whether he is licensed to do the job. Motorcycle locksmiths in Las Vegas are very experienced and qualified to do the jobs. And to add more to it, they have got a reputation among the best ones. Las Vegas is known for its style and glamour and its lavish lifestyle. People who come there are the ones who are looking for adventure, luck and fun. Keeping their motorcycles safe is the primary concern. Motorcycle Locksmith Las Vegas is the most secure locksmith as they can provide service 24*7 a day and after installation they take full responsibility for "after sales service". Bike keys are very hard to get their origin, since they are installed from the internal side. Many local lock dealers order their goods from a reputed firm so that their clients' vehicles remain safe.

Motorcycle locksmiths Las Vegas, although many of them work independently, they also work under a parent company to maximize their profits and to accumulate more skills. A new ignition can be bought and installed, but the gas cap lock, helmet lock and storage locks can't be dealt by an amateur. In shrt, contact a professional for it.

Getting locked out of a home or vehicle is very common and can happen to just about anyone at anytime and the situation can be a real hassle especially if it happens right in the middle of the night. The first reaction is most likely to call up a relative or a friend to deliver a set of spare keys. But if neither of them is available the only thing left to do is to call up an emergency 24-hour locksmith to help you open the door for a certain fee. However before just dialing a random locksmith's number, one should be aware that we could be putting ourselves into a real danger while calling just about any emergency locksmith .

Over the recent years there have been many cases and complaints of fraud by unlicensed and phony locksmiths in different areas. The complaints included overcharging as well as intimidation tactics. This article will help you identify these criminals posing as locksmiths and in finding the genuine service providers

Locksmiths gain access to your property and the most important reason why you should never trust a locksmith completely is that when you hire a locksmith to unlock your door they get access to your property and some locksmith companies may be fronts for thieves and could be targeting your home when you call them up asking for locksmith services. So the most important precaution to avoid such criminals is when the locksmith arrives at your place never forget to ask for identification, including a locksmith license where applicable.

Get an estimate quote before any work begins, including emergency service and ask about any extra charges for things like emergency hours, mileage or service call minimums before you agree to have the work performed and if the on-site price of the locksmith doesn't match the phone estimate, don't allow the work to be performed. If the locksmith hesitates or tries to inflate the figure walk away from the deal. If the locksmith gets angry or starts threatening, don't hesitate to call the authorities

If you find a locksmith through the phone book or through the Internet or through any directory assistance and a business address is given always confirm that the address belongs to that locksmith. Some dis reputed companies list street addresses to give the impression that they are local. But the addresses often belong to other businesses or vacant lots that is if they exist at all. These addresses can be verified through websites that allows matching phone numbers with street addresses. Whereas it is quite possible that some legitimate locksmith companies do not include a street address in their listing maybe because they operate a "mobile" business or maybe because they are operating their business out of their home and may be they are reluctant to list that address.

If you are locked out of your house or your workplace be cautious of companies that recommend or insist on drilling or replacing the lock up front. Just know that the experienced locksmiths have the skills, technique and tools to unlock just about any door.

Make sure that you don't fall victim to these scams. If you are in need of a perfect and trusted locksmith please visit the website: www.lasvegaslocksmiths.com

1975 to 1987 4-cylinder cog Honda timing belts are a very common automotive type that should and will last safely to 45,000 miles, provided they are used in a car with close ratio automatic shifting and fairly medium to high freeway to highway use. BUT, put them in a early Honda Gold Wing motorcycle (GL1000, GL1100 or GL1200) with its manual shift and wider gear change steps creates another situation. Bang, clunk, up and down, over and over - lashing and stressing the belts harshly, setting up stress and shear points around the belt.

You can't tell a thing by looking at them as they NEVER show wear, stretch or cracking. The belt construction, a bias fiberglass rubber laminate, does not allow
for it because valve timing must NEVER alter.

Hundreds of discussions with customers who have broken belts puts the risk range at 22,000 to 28,000 miles or 5 years, regardless of mileage. Push them
further is like playing Russian Roulette with your engine valves and your safety. Preventive maintenance is the key. If you don't know when the belts were last changed, you are at risk.

On the other hand, the 1988 to 2000 6-cylinder curvilinear cog Honda timing belts used on the GL1500 are not so risky and rarely break but those darn radiussed cogs just start to wear during timing fluctuates. A lot of times the bike just stops running due to sensor shut-downs when the valve timing span becomes too distorted or irregular. It's no fun sitting on the highway when you can't figure out what is NOT going on while all systems appear to start and run.

Experience with customers tells us to change your valve timing belts at a about
35,000 to 50,000 mile intervals for best performance and lowest risk of being mysteriously stranded.

So, do it! Change your timing belts! But then, we do make a bigger sale if you
gamble and lose, as lots of riders have done. Valves, head gaskets, exhaust pipe gaskets and ... new timing belts make very nice order!!

Fractions of pennies per miles, a small cost to replace and maintain as compared against damaged engines, huge expenses, towing bill and risk of life and limb. Don't end up on the side of the road when your most critical engine component fails!

AIR CUT-OFF VALVE

The Air Cut-Off Valve is an extremely important part of the fuel / air intake system that is frequently missed even by competent mechanics, most of whom are not even aware of its existence or how it functions. Over time, air cutoff valves will harden up, perforate and/or disintegrate leaving your motorcycle in a permanently lean, low RPM range (0-2200).

Most early model Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha motorcycles use air cut-off valves. Every Honda CB650, CB750, CB900 and GL1000 has one, located in the air intake tube between the air cleaner box and the manifold. The GL1100 has four, located in the top air intake passage of each carburetor, and every GL1200 has one located in the plenum box below the air cleaner box similar to the GL1000.

These valves are "air blockers", along with the carburetor o-rings, serving to restrict air flow, increasing the fuel-air mixture ratio when the carb slides are in the lower RPM range, up to closed so that the machine will start and idle smoothly with virtually no choking and accelerate rapidly, with no stumble or hesitation.

When typical starting requires heavy and prolonged choking to keep the bike running, when stalling and hesitation occurs even while "warmed up" and when backfiring pops while the throttle is shut off while cruising, most people will start fooling with the air screws to try to overcome the problem, only making it worse along with reducing their gas mileage.

Running with dysfunctional air cut-off valves can cause severe engine damage or failure. When the valves are dysfunctional, the engine pulls nearly total air into the low RPM range through the carbs and on to the combustion chamber. The fuel-air ratio is extremely poor with pre-ignition long before the normal 38 to 40 degree firing point, generating an enormous amount of heat, with no power, which is trapped a longer period of time in the cylinder before the exhaust valve opens.

This heat goes mostly up through the cylinder head, gradually incinerating the head gaskets and allowing engine coolant (antifreeze) to seep into the engine. You can easily spot when you are in trouble by a puff of bluish-white or white smoke on first starting the engine. Don't leave it alone. Change the head gaskets immediately or you could take out your bottom end bearings, ruining the engine.

For those of you installing new exhaust systems, you will discolor your head pipes, either blue (lean state) or gold (rich state) if the signs are ignored. You an destain your pipes using Blueway or Blue-Off but be careful not to rub the chrome, just dab gently. These destaining compounds are usually found at a Harley dealer or Harley-oriented aftermarket shop.

Honda genuine pipes, like many Yamaha pipes, have a double wall for a portion of the head pipe which masks discoloration - but also masks a bad state of tune. Even if your pipes are original and still in good shape, don't think you're safe if your motorcycle has any or all of the dysfunctional air cut-off valve running and performing characteristics.

If your 1975 to 1987 Gold Wing is not getting 50 to 58 miles per gallon (20-23 kilometers per liter), you have one of the most obvious signs of trouble. It is likely your air screws have been backed out to try to overcome the effects of the poor running, stumbling, starting, stalling and quitting.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES

Refer to your Clymer, Haynes or Honda Workshop manual for location and installation procedures.

Replace your air cut-off valve/s then resynchronize all four carburetors to the #3 carburetor vacuum level using a mercury carb sync tool (carb stick) or vacuum gauge synchronizer tool. The number 3 carb is the constant fixed flow carburetor set at the factory.

DO NOT attempt to set by ear or just by guessing as the results can be anywhere from pathetic to disastrous.

DO NOT deviate from the book settings of your Honda, Clymer or Haynes manual. Wiser people than all of us designed this very effective and efficient intake and carburetion system.

To further insure against any additional vacuum loss, replace your inexpensive carburetor manifold o-rings. Vacuum loss can occur there and mimic the effect of a bad air cut-off valve. Paste a new set in with vaseline and make sure they are sealed with an ether check.

Ordinarily, the exoteric look and feel of the hermes bags are created outside meeting or crocodile skin, but crocodile derma will probably amount way additional because abyssal crocodiles they normally use aren't simple to appear by. The autogenous lining is bogus from dupe derma which is exclusively bistered to bout the blush with the exterior. The unique lock, keys, buckle, and also anxiety studs that beautify the accoutrements are aswell fabricated with adored metals for instance gold or palladium. On the other hand, it does not beggarly that most of these are fake scans. You can find aswell some that are made available for beneath since they're outdated. The aberration on the total from your adulterated is that the above will not accept a hangtag fabricated from paper. Plus, a total one from Hermes has an key set as well as scratched lock. Despite the actuality an Hermes Birkin carrier is overpriced, I will still awful acclaim investing in one as it is one in the few purchases that in certainty appreciates in amount after some time. Generally, a back pack alone retains resale amount as continued as it would be advised to get an "it" back pack.

Worn stock steering stem ball bearings in your motorcycle will usually cause notchy steering. Replacing the bearings will dramatically improve your steering by eliminating high-speed jerkiness and unpredictable left-right to left-right oscillation on less than perfect road surfaces. You will discover that even your low-speed driving will smooth out to become almost effortless.

Most motorcycles, including the $20,000 plus tourers like Goldwings, have been built with primitive bicycle-type loose ball bearings races. You may have stock bearings worth pennies that provide little steering stem support and cause poor handling and turning responses. These bearings typically have sloppy, crude tolerances that can literally cause side-to-side clunking and vague, uncomfortable steering. They damage easily and over time will pit and rust which will impede ease of steering movement that can eventually become quite dangerous.

All Balls made improvements with precision tapered roller (Timken type) bearings for the steering stem. All Balls races have deep, tapered roller bearing housings for maximum support and load vector thrust where it should be - down in the center of the steering stem.

Balance, ease of handling and effortless turning with these huge, supporting roller bearing surfaces make a twitchy nightmare into a riding pleasure and there will be one less defective assembly to forget about. You will experience a lot more riding enjoyment no matter how old the motorcycle. Safety should always be your primary consideration. Replacing steering stem bearings to improve handling and control of your motorcycle is a small price to pay for so much!

06/18 & 19/10

I am back. I am going to take you on a couple of different trips today. Both will take us to and through Laconia Bike Week.

Let's start by talking about the weather. Anyone who has been a patron of Laconia Bike Week knows that the week almost never passes without us bikers getting wet due to rain. Yes I used the "R" word, sorry. On Friday, June 18th I went to visit my "brother" bike rider who lives in central Vermont. The day promised to be in the 80's to low 90's, a perfect riding day. I got to his house with a path all determined and I was ready to ride. The bigger surprise was that my friend was also ready to ride. Don't get me wrong, he loves to ride as much as I do but he is seldom ready to go when I get to his house. He lives about 65 miles from me.

I let him know of our planned route and he was questioning the plan. I asked what he wanted to do and his thought was to ride in New Hampshire so we could ride in a little more comfort no helmet! So we decided to go to Laconia for the day and check out the crowd. Off we go!

We proceeded East on VT. route 302 to route 25. We continued on VT. route 25 and crossed into New Hampshire into the town of Piermont. From here I decided to travel NH. Route 25C, through Warren (take a look at the missile!) and then back to route 25 to Plymouth. We then went on route 135 through Ashland and continued to New Hampton. All the travel thus far has been excellent scenery and only one pretty bumpy road. If you can, try to avoid NH. Route 25C as this is like a goat path for a motorcycle. Thank goodness for my comfortable riding gear and the comfort of my custom seat.

Once in New Hampton we start to see bikes and I mean bikes! Route 135 intersects with route 103 and this is a very popular route to gain access to the bike week festivities. As we worked our way towards Laconia, going through Meredith we notice the traffic is backed up! We are surprised as the traffic we are seeing is leading away from Laconia and the bike week activities? We continue forward and get to the intersection of route 3 and Roller Coaster Road where the Broken Spoke Saloon and the world famous Tamarack restaurant are located. By this time the temp is well into the high 80's and close to 90! We are hot & thirsty.

We decide to go to the Broken Spoke for cooling refreshments and some lunch. We enter the parking area to find even more bikes. We work our way around the lot and could not find adequate parking. We had decided to leave and try another place when I spotted two places right next to the exit. We rush and take the places before anyone else realizes they are there!

We have a nice, icy cold beer and some lunch. By now the crowd at the Spoke is growing even bigger. Bikes are now parking across the street to get into the Spoke. We look at the time of day (remember I started in Central Vermont at 10:30 am) and it well past 2:00 in the afternoon. My "brother" and I like to ride relaxed and under no pressure. This is the most relaxing and gratifying way for us to ride. We decide to start back without ever actually entering the Laconia, Weirs Beach area!

On the way out of town we remember the backed up traffic we saw when we came into town. We did NOT want to suffer through all that. I knew an alternate way to get out of the area while avoiding the traffic on NH. Route 3. We cut across Roller Coaster Road to route 106. Now here most would turn right to go to Meredith, but there is where the traffic is. I turn left to go towards the center of Laconia. At the intersection of route 106 and Elm Street and Meredith Center Road we turn Right to go towards Meredith Center. Once there we turn onto route 103 and go back to New Hampton. We again travel route 135 to Plymouth and then 25 to Warren. This time we remember the "goat path", route 25C and decide to continue to route 25B. This route will also bring us close to Piermont so my "brother" can continue home to Central Vermont.

All in all, a GREAT ride, GREAT weather and my GREAT friend and brother out for the day. We both pride ourselves on having the correct gear and accessories for every ride we take. This trip was no exception. We were well prepared and had all our necessary leather, gear, accessories and everything a true blooded motorcyclist would want or need. To find all this and more, shop my favorite site: www.motorcycleleathervalue.com

Next Day's Travel

06/19/10

Today is another WONDERFUL motorcycle riding day! Today my lady friend (believe this or not, I have the luck of finding a lady friend who loves to ride almost as much as I do!) wants to do a day trip to yeah go ahead and guess . Yup, that's right, she wants to go to Laconia Bike Week! Go figure? She has never experienced a true biker event so I say why not? I mean to go to Laconia two days in a row isn't all that bad! LOL

For this ride I want to get to Laconia as quickly as possible. My lady friend wants to see everything! Now for anyone who has ever been to Laconia for bike knows to see everything in a onetime day trip is VERY hard to accomplish. So I get her up and going and we seat ourselves on "Baby" (my nick name for my ride) for departure at 7:55 am! My lady is GREAT when it comes to riding! J

To expedite the trip to Laconia I opt to proceed down Interstate 93 to New Hampton. This is again another great road in New Hampshire, but it is an interstate. I generally do not like to ride the interstate as it is faster than prefer to ride. We make Laconia in record time and we are parking "Baby" by 9:45 am!

We spend the entire day walking, sitting and taking in a lot of fluids (it is hot on the pavement!) up and down the Wiers. One thing I start to notice is the lack pof vendors. I see areas that are usually full of vendor tents empty. The bike traffic is much less than I have seen in the past. The crowd also is smaller; Perhaps it the heat? Perhaps it is the time of year? But I think it is due to the atmosphere. If you go back in history and look at Laconia Bike Week from 15 years ago, it has changed a lot! The event is turning away from a "true" biker event and transforming into a family event. I think this is why the crowd has dwindled and the bikes are fewer.

OK, we have a good time and my lady is wiped out! We walked a lot in the heat! Off we go to travel home. This time we ride the way we prefer, slow and easy. We take just about the same route that I took the day before with my brother, but in Warren we take yet another path out. We stayed on route 25 all the way to Haverhill to route 10. We travel up 10 to Woodsville and merge with route 302. We take that back to Littleton and then onto route 135! Yes the same route 135 we traveled yesterday in the Southern part of the state! This takes us to Dalton, NH. We then cross the river to VT. And continue through Gilman to Lunenburg and home.

Another fine motorcycle riding day. Again with being prepared we had all our equipment, accessories and gear we needed for our motorcycle ride. For you to get all you need go to www.motorcycleleathervalue.com and all your riding needs can be fulfilled!

Of the tens of millions of motorcyclists here and abroad, only 50,000 or so have been certified as riding over 1,000 miles in under 24 hours by the Iron Butt Association (IBA). Of these, only 11 have completed over 20 certified distance and endurance rides and qualified as members of the IBA Mile Eater GOLD Club. And of these, only BMW rider and LDR legend Jack Shoalmire is credited with 50 or more certifications. My current riding resume pales in comparison to Jack's, but nevertheless at 10:46pm on Saturday (19 June 2010) I logged a Publix/Presto ATM slip to mark the successful completion of what should be certified as my 5th SaddleSore 2000 and my 50th Iron Butt Ride. And once it is, according to IBA founder and President Mike Kneebone, that will be the first time a Harley-Davidson rider has hit the 50-ride benchmark, and the first time any Iron Butt rider has completed 50 certified rides on the same motorcycle.

I had intended something more ambitious for "Ride 5-0" than a SaddleSore 2000 comprised of two round trips to nowhere. But times being what they are, I am fortunate and grateful to be doing any distance riding at all... Anyway, the SS2000 requires that you ride over 2,000 miles in under 48 hours. On this particular ride, I covered 2,087 miles in 40 hours 27 minutes total time, or 30 hours 3 minutes riding time. On the first leg (day one), I rode from Miami Beach FL to Cecil GA and back via Alligator Alley and IH-75, covering a distance of 1,048 miles in 14 hours 44 minutes for an MTH of 71.13. On the second leg (day two), I rode roundtrip from Miami Beach FL to Ridgeland SC and back via IH-95, covering a distance of 1,039 miles in 15 hours 19 minutes for an MTH of 67.83. There are no world records or even personal bests in any of these statistics. But it was a safe and successful ride, and that must satisfice. Here are the highlights:

Leg 1: Round-Trip from Miami Beach FL to Cecil GA

Sleepy witness signatures gathered, at 6:19am on Friday, 18 June 2010, I pulled an ATM slip at a SoBe Wachovia and logged the start of my ride. It was a typical muggy South Florida summer morning. But once I got rolling, the wind evaporated the beads of sweat and I had cool running all the way west across an almost empty Alligator Alley. Workday morning traffic slowed me down as I headed north up IH-75 through Naples and Fort Myers, but once the traffic thinned I had perfect riding conditions all the way to Tampa. Just north of there, I hit the first of three major accident-related traffic jams and rubbernecker slowdowns (that seem to occur every time I ride that stretch of interstate). These queues mandated some creative lane definition in order to maintain an acceptable pace of forward progress. But from my gas stop in Alachua northward into Georgia, all the cagers kept their eyes on the road and their shiney sides up, which allowed me to sail on into my turnaround point at Cecil with no further interruptions or irritations beyond the seemingly perpetual road construction along that route.

Heading south back to Florida, it was midafternoon by the time I reached Ocala. In Central Florida in the summer, it rains almost every afternoon, and this day was no exception. Those large, cold thundercloud raindrops were a welcome relief from the sweltering heat. But after a couple of hundred miles, I'd had all the relief I needed. The downpour finally began to dissipate as I rounded the bend towards Alligator Alley just after 7:00pm. From that point on, the red-orange sun hanging low in the west behind me seemed to be battling yet another band of clouds in front of me for dominance of the turbulent skies over the Everglades. And from this age-old natural conflict came a Kodak moment that made me regret not having a camera:

I was approaching the Broward end of the Alley and home when a glistening in Hidalgo's left rearview mirror caught my eye. I glanced over to see the reflection of a round red sun sitting in the middle of a bright blue strip of daylight bounded by the horizon beneath it and a cloud bank above. It made the mirror look like a chrome-framed picture postcard. More spectacular, though, was what I saw when I looked back up: A huge, thick rainbow was perfectly centered over the highway before me, framing within it an arch of dark clouds fronted by intermittent bolts of lightning that seemed to flash directly down from the rainbow. It was as if God was staging a rock concert, and it was almost time for the band...

Leg 2: Round-Trip from Miami Beach FL to Ridgeland SC

After taking in my fill of skim milk, scrambled eggs and Don Francisco's Colombia Supremo, I rolled down to the 5th Street Shell and filled up my tank, logging the receipt and the start of leg 2 at 7:27am. From there I made the short hop across the causeway and headed north on IH-95. Being a Saturday, traffic was light and I had smooth sailing all the way through South Florida's tri-county metroplex and northward to my first stop at Vero Beach. In fact, I had good weather, open roads and easy riding all the way through Jacksonville, Georgia and on into South Carolina.

I reached my turnaround point at Ridgeland SC at 3:08pm ... as did the first of several summer showers and thunderstorms I'd be riding through as I headed back southward. Just north of Brunswick GA, the rain started coming down in slanted sheets that slowed me to 15mph for a few minutes. But once I punched through, that was the worst of it.

Sunset was approaching as I stopped for gas in Titusville FL at 7:30pm. Clouds would fill the skies for the rest of the evening, but I was south of the rain now and had dry roads from there to Miami. "Dry" roads, yes, but not necessarily "safe" roads... Somewhere near Mile Marker 100 by Stuart at around 9:00pm, I hit something lying in the road that looked, felt and sounded like either a heavy metal garbage can lid or an overturned manhole cover. It was dark in color, and lying on black asphalt under a starless night sky, so I didn't see it until I was right on top of it. The impact ripped the spring off my sidestand and took out my speedometer and odometer. Luckily though, I was still upright and rolling, and I didn't detect any other damage. So at my next and final gas stop in Jupiter, I bungied the sidestand then rode her safely home to SoBe.

You know the saying, Everything old becomes new again someday. Well, this is true for mopeds too. A lot of scooter producers are coming out with new scooters that look like the old ones. I think it's awesome. I really like the way retro vehicles look. Scooters like the Honda Metropolitan and the Vespa GVS 250 look like classic scooters from days gone by.

Around the beginning of the 20th century, scooters made there way to the market in Europe. They resembled what we think of as a moped in today's world. A bike with a motor attached is kind of a crude way to think of it. By the late 1910's people in the USA were driving scooters, but they still never reached the popularity of the auto mobile. Here is a look at some of the better know scooters on the market today:

Cushman --The Cushman Company produced motor scooters from 1936 to 1965 and they were most widely used during WWII. If you've ever seen some of those old WWII documentaries or films, these are most likely what the GI's are cruising around on.

Mitsubishi -- One of the first scooters made in Japan was the Mitsubishi Silver Pigeon. It was a scooter largely made of warplane wheels and discarded warplane parts, believe it or not.

The King of Retro - Vespa -- The Vespa is one of the most popular scooter companies today. They are considered the standard for scooters in Europe.

Honda -- Honda launched the most popular scooter of all time, the Super Cub, in 1958. With more than 60 million sold worldwide, it is the best selling powered vehicle of all time. Pretty impressive. If you can get your hands on one of these, you will have a classic on your hands.

They have built a ton of different models since the Cub in 1958. The fact that they have sold more scooters than any other company worldwide should give you a pretty good idea of what kind of scooter you can expect from this company.

The old style look is one thing. These things are very efficient is you are looking to save a few bucks. With 4 stroke, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine, many of the small scooters can get around 100 mpg.

What old becomes new. It happens all the time.

Many Americans could imagine living without a car, but we really need to start doing some things a little different. Just think back to when you first went to the station and paid $3.89 a gallon. You probably felt sick to your stomach.

Ever since, sales of hybrids and smaller vehicles have been on the rise. Saving money at the pump may be out of your control, but there are things you can do on your end to make sure your get the most value out of every gallon of gas.

#1 If you want to save you've got to get air in there. The fact that these cars are so computerized these days means we are limited to how much we can work on them nowadays. One thing we still can do is change our own air filters. It's a simple process and can save you up to 10% on your fuel economy. Change it a couple times a year and you should be good.

#2 Drive correctly- This is a simple one, yet nobody ever thinks about it. Most people keep their foot on the gas pedal and brake pedal longer than they should. You don't need to gun it and you don't need to wait until the last minute to brake. Try it. And you may see between 5-10% better fuel efficiency.

#3 The best gas mileage is related to lower speeds -- Use your cruise control if you have one. The more consistent you keep your speed, the better mileage you will get. It may not be fun, but it will keep money in your wallet.

#4 Tune ups- Another no brainer, but people fail to do this. In your owners manual there will be a section that recommends getting your car tuned up. It is there for a reason. Follow what it says and your car will last longer and run correctly.

#5 If you can go without it, turn off the air. This really applies to older cars. Newer cars recycle air in the cabin, thus taking pressure off the system to create cool air. Most older cars don't have this feature and will get worse mileage if you constantly run the air conditioning. We all could use the extra dough, so try a few of these things out. They really can help if you just give them a shot.
